A collaborative work with Francesco Niccolò Garau
The Wallet (working title) is a project by Bones & Stones Studio aimed at redefining the traditional wallet's function and user experience. Moving away from the conventional cash-carrying role, this wallet focuses on convenient credit card storage. Unlike typical metal wallets that emphasize RFID-blocking or anti-magnetic features, its key differentiator lies in customizable interaction modes and color combinations. Users can choose from several distinct mechanisms for accessing their cards, including a flat push plate, a volume knob-like dial, and a sliding mechanism—with plans for more variations in the future.
Bones & Stones Studio envisions _The Wallet_ as a way to create a unique **emotional connection** between consumers and their products. The project is in its early stages, with the goal of establishing that connection by allowing users to customize everything from materials and colors to interaction modes—imagining true customization at scale. The studio also aims to implement circular, local fabrication processes to minimize carbon emissions by collaborating with local artists and manufacturers to create unique, personalized designs.
Bones & Stones Studio seeks to blend primal emotions and materials with cutting-edge technology, presenting a design philosophy that merges raw beauty with humanistic elegance.
